Contest.is has many powerful features to assist you in creating and managing your social promotions on Facebook FanPage and on your company’s website.

You will see this Screen after logging onto Contest section of your Dashboard.  From this screen you can perform the following functions:

• Edit Contest -
  
• Preview Contest
• View Contest Results (Voting)
• Manage Contest Media
• Retrieve Embed Code – retrieve code and embed on your website like a YouTube embed
  
• Upload FanPage Image
• Location – set specific location for your contest.

Any of the above features are accessed from this screen

1. Click on “Edit Media” Button in the “Contest Media” Section of the Screen

You will see this Screen after logging onto Contest section of your Dashboard. This tutorial demonstrates how to set-up a contest using YouTube Videosl.

After you CLICK on “Video/Photo” you will see the following dashboard screen:

You have the following Youtube search options:

A. Top Rated Videos – Selecting this option will result in a search of the top rated videos for the “search terms” you inserted into the “Search YouTube Videos” field.

B. Most Viewed Videos – Selecting this option will result in a search of top rated videos for the “search terms” inserted into the “Search YouTube Videos” field.

C. Recently Featured Videos – Selecting this option will result in a search of recently featured videos for the “search terms” inserted into the “Search YouTube Videos” field.

D. Videos from a specific user – Selecting this option will result in a search of videos for a specific user for the “search terms” inserted into the “Search YouTube Videos” field.

2. Searching for Youtube Video

Two (2) easy steps to search for YouTube>>(1) insert search terms into search field and (2) CLICK on search button

Click on “Add Video” for each desired video. You may actually listen to the video prior to “Adding”. After selecting the desired number of videos you may exit out of this screen by Clicking on the “Red Back Arrow” button.

The purpose of this Tutorial is to show you how to create a Contest.is Video Contest that will live on your Facebook FanPage and on your company’s website.

After logging into the Contest.is dashboard you will see the following section.

1. You are here > Contest.is – Dashboard >>CLICK on “Contest” Button

Now you are ready to start the creation of your Contest.is video based contest.

2. You are here > CLICK on “New Contest” Button

After clicking on the “Video” Button it will open up to the “New Contest” Button – which allows you to create a new contest.

Note: If you have previously created other Contest.is Contests you will see a list of those Contests in this section of the dashboard. However, to create a new Contests simply CLICK “New Contest” button.

From the Contest Edit Screen Dashboard you will be able to perform the following functions

Title - Set the title of the Question of your Poll

Hashtags - Set the Hashtags for automatic streaming on Twitter

Edit Rules

Set the Attributes of your Contests

Submission Dates

Voting Start and End Date

Voting Type (and option to Show Total Votes)

Facebook Comments

Let’s start by setting the title of your Contest

3. You are here >>>Contest Edit Screen > Creating Contest

STEP 1 – Insert the Title of your Contest in the appropriate field. Hint: It should be something very interesting or popular in order to get the attraction of your targeted audience. Be original. Use your imagination. Brainstorm prior to setting the Title.

Tip: Capitalize each word of the Question to make it look professional.

STEP 2 – Include #hashtags here if you expect users to log-in with Twitter account to vote. If you are setting “Open Vote” then there is no need to include #hashtags. It is an optional field

STEP3 – Include a description of your contest for users.  It is an optional field.
